Howdy!
I’m Virginia, the creative behind Buff Media, a freelance Digital & Print designer that specializes in graphic design, illustration, motion graphics, and video production. I am passionate about all things creative and can help businesses bring their dreams to life with thoughtful and clever designs.
I was born and raised in the Ozarks, where I spent most of my life exploring the Buffalo River and playing on the trails around Northwest Arkansas.
After high school, I left the Ozarks to study Digital Filmmaking and Broadcast Journalism at the University of Central Arkansas. While there, I honed my storytelling skills and earned recognition for my coverage of local artists. I also earned an Associate's in Graphic Design from Pulaski Technical College to round out my creative toolkit. After graduating, I started my design career in print and sign production while finding my groove in the outdoor community. I joined a women’s mountain biking clinic and soon after started racing Mountain Bikes with Central Arkansas Velo (C.A.R.V.E.) While racing with C.A.R.VE I also contributed design work (including race kits) event signage, and even a video for the team.
Despite my growing career, I missed the Ozark mountains and dreamed of a more creative challenge.
So, I moved back to Fayetteville, where I managed social media and created designs at a local screen printing company before transitioning to a role with the City of Fayetteville Arkansas producing dynamic video content. I had a lot of fun using my creative skill sets to help the city government. One project I made, A Scoop on Compost, even earned a Telly Award and an Emmy nomination.
Driven by a desire for even bigger challenges, I packed my bags for Colorado and launched my freelance career. Whether I’m designing an illustration, creating motion graphics, or producing a video, I take a holistic approach to each project. It’s like planning a tough outdoor adventure — every step builds toward something rewarding.
